Slices of time and space in my world

I don't have the foggiest idea as to what the purpose of this blog will be. So I will muddle along and see where it takes me. If you are bored enough to take this journey with me, then I pity you and welcome you all at once.

Ducks have to be my favorite bird. I know it's kind of a weird choice, but I just think they are really funny. They make such a cool sound, and when they're all talking over each other it's hilarious. Plus they awkwardly waddle around until they hit the water and suddenly they're gliding across the water with incredible grace. They can dive underwater for a while and pop up quite a ways away, and they even fly decently. And they're very friendly, unlike their geese cousins. Geese are jerks. I hear swans are mean too, so clearly ducks are the water birds you've got to love.

No, no. Penguins are the water bird of choice. Sure, they can't fly, but they sure as hell can swim. I guess there are some shortcomings as the average person would never run into them in the wild. Perhaps ducks are a good choice, then(swans ARE jerks). A very close second choice, that is.

Good points, Megan. I DO really like penguins, but they are DQ's for their inability to fly (though they look like they're flying when they swim underwater). Another thing that works against them is that "Happy Feet" movie, which I haven't seen but for some reason bugs me. Maybe I'm just penguined out because I normally like them- I really enjoyed March of the Penguins last year, and that Linux penguin is really cute too. :-)
